Our Children
watching them play
puts a glories end too
a sometimes stressful day
checking their homework
hearing them read
sure makes it hard for me to believe
life's going so fast
seems like a blur to the past
wishing these moments could
always last
hearing them talk about their play
watching them tackle enough a tough day
hearing i love yous through out the day
makes me smile at the end of each day
scrapped knee's
stubbed toe's
hurt feelings
and a running nose
a temper strikes and fear sinks in
i hope its only the flu again
cuddling is my favorite time
even if it comes with a whine
Gods biggest blessing is children i say
no matter what they say
children are our blessings each day
put on loan from the good lord above
to provide them with good knowledge and love
to set for a goal
from the good lord above
who gave us this gift
as a sign of his love

Hidden Treasures
comforting voices
good listeners
making no choices
lifting the gray
turning it all blue
these are the things
you seem to do
following your heart
and letting it glide
even though you
not sure of the ride
feeling of wealth
without the gold
knowing its you
my life's has a hold
seeking our words
for each days grace
knowing our words help
the human race
finding a jewel
hidden beyond
what this worlds
been built upon
peoples spirits
free at last
knowing all even
our past
your friendship
has been
like along lost treasure
without it there's
nothing to measure

Commitment Within
Sweet n Tender
Tough n strong
these are the things
that carry us along
Constant Friendship
meaning full vowels
never ending lovers and pals
Truthful and faithful
through thick and thin
these are the things
i see with in
constant encouragement
compromising at times
these are things
that make our marriage wise
fighting through the timbers
life rolls our way
these are the things that make me stay
rolling the dice
playing the game
winning or losing
we're still the same
smiles and kisses
rising with the sun
saying i love you when every things done
picking us up
when we seem to fall
lending our hearts
to the meek and the small
children's laughter
following us about
these are the things
i could not live without!

Standing up
Sadness
Alone in the dark
people thinking your
and evil shark
Hardness
coldness
feeling pain
for people knowing
your not the same
your ideals are
much more steep
your opinions running deep
standing with pride
and following through
for these are the things
i must really do
taking the bullet
with an open chest
knowing that your
not wearing your protective vest
steppin up to the plate
striding for home
knowing that your
all on your own
Picking people up
when they've fallen down
Knowing that your not wearing the crown
Believing in those
who others doubt
knowing that everyone
can turn about
facing the music
even when your wrong
these are the things
am mother Carry's on
Saying no
even when it hurts
knowing that it
might work
taking the dive
for them wont do
these things they do know
because of you

My Grandma
special chats
watering flower beds
and taking long naps
One on one dinners
with only your love
roller skates,
special dates
aroma therapy
with roses all around
making pocket change
picking up cigarettes butts off the ground
lending your time
whenever i want
knowing that its you
i always want
never ending encouragement
never ending love
firm as a rock
soft as a glove
Special treats
i love yous each day
keeps the smelly
doctor at bay
Story's and movies
its all the same
only these things can mean on name
Grammy it says
in each and every way
your the one who brightens
my day
with your endless love
and continues smiles
your the one who's made my life worth while
I love you so much
and i wanted you to know
you had a big hand
in helping me grow
I grew with the beams
of your radiant love
i sure am thankful
for the good lord above
He gave me this grandma
made of sunshine and gold
to always know
i am here to hold!

Growing Up
First smile
you'd never think
its only for awhile
first crawl
first time to sit
you couldn't imagine
its gone in a split
first step
first word
now you know
they will be heard
first class
first grade
your worried of
the choices that'll be made
Wanting only their best
so afraid of them leaving the nest
Have we installed enough wisdom
and strength
to know they'll make it
through the gate
the harsh world pounding down
is this enough for them to
make it through each round
joyful tears
remembering the years
laughter, joy
baby smells
special toys
snuggle time
wrestling matches
special kisses
special glances
Moments of realizing
this time is near
striking down instant fear
Did i do my job the best
will it help them with
life's biggest test
i know they can do it
all will see
no matter what
they will always have me

Giving Thanks
Swirling leaves
Frosty Breath
and Autumn leaves
Family and Friends
Gathering around
Cheerful laughs
Soothing Sounds
Heartfelt smiles
and joyful tears
Giving thanks through out the years
Yesterday was here and gone
Tomorrows near so carry on
These things we have can disappear
So do remember to keep them dear
Giving thanks not just once a year
being blessed with those who are dear
So just a penny for your thoughts
Be very thankful for what we've got
For tomorrow is another day
things do pass and go away
tell the ones you love so dear
and make it more than once a year
Send a card, post a note
tell a rhyme or tell a joke
Call a friend and let them here
just how much you really care!
